Play is the work of the child.
— Maria Montessori

The McCormick Montessori Child Care Center is committed to early childhood development, fostering self-independence, problem solving skills and respect for others. We are thrilled to announce that we are building a new, safer playground to enhance the learning environment for the children.

Playground design

The goal is to completely replace the existing, deteriorating playground structure and transform the space into a beautiful play environment for our children. The new playground features:

  • Durable cushioned playground surface that is safe, eco-friendly and hygienic.

  • Age-appropriate playground equipment to encourage motor skills, cognitive skills and sensory development.

  • New outdoor play area and equipment for infants and toddlers.

  • New fence enclosure

  • Handicap accessibility

Thank you to our donors whose generous gifts helped make this possible. Funds were raised through a challenge grant from the Swedish Covenant Hospital Foundation.

Mark your calendars for the ribbon-cutting: Oct. 4 at 5 p.m.
