Women and families on Chicago’s north side are closer to accessing high-quality, coordinated health care thanks to supporters who attended the A Glamorous Gala benefit. Hosted by Gala Chairs Lauren Rubinson-Morris and Glenn Morris, the 58th annual gala was attended by 960 guests and raised more than $815,000 for the Women’s Health Initiative. Paul Hawkinson was honored as this year’s Spirit of Compassion Award recipient. Proceeds will help build a new health and resource center, enhancing clinical services and educational outreach for women and their families.“The generosity shown by all of our donors and community members that attended this year’s gala is truly humbling,” said Lauren Rubinson-Morris, gala chair and Swedish Covenant Hospital Foundation board member. “Swedish Covenant Hospital Foundation is committed to women’s health issues, and this funding will ultimately help ensure current and future generations of patients have access to exceptional health care in the unique healing environment that is Swedish Covenant Hospital.”The cornerstone of the Women’s Health Initiative is the Mayora Rosenberg Women’s Health Center, a comprehensive facility conceived and designed by women of diverse backgrounds. When completed, the center will feature flexible appointment times, accommodations for children and private consultation rooms. The Initiative also includes a Health Resource Center that aims to increase health literacy among women in our community and an Access and Education program to expand access to health care information and services. The campaign is led by Co-Chairs Paul Hawkinson and Audrey Silver, and Honorary Chair, Jack Rosenberg.
