The Swedish Covenant Hospital Associates’ Board is a group of young professionals who raise funds, increase public awareness and perform community service on behalf of Swedish Covenant Hospital. The Associates’ Board supports the mission, value and vision of Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Board members create and manage special events to raise funds for Swedish Covenant Hospital initiatives. In recent years, they’ve hosted a variety of fundraising events, such as bowling and bags tournaments, beer tastings, and outings to local sporting events.
The fundraising proceeds are directed toward innovative hospital programs selected by the Associates’ Board. Recent initiatives have included the Artist-in-Residence program, which employs an artist who helps patients creatively express their experience, the Healing Garden, a natural and inviting habitat for healing and meditation for both patients and visitors, and the Women’s Health Initiative to increase access to healthcare for all women in the community.
Associates’ Board members help Swedish Covenant Hospital with events both within and outside of the hospital campus. This gives members the opportunity to talk with community members about the hospital and explain how the board contributes to its mission.
Giving back to the community is the third facet of the board’s mission. The Associates’ Board has represented Swedish Covenant Hospital in the community by volunteering at the Square Roots Festival and the Ravenswood Run 5K, and assisted other nearby groups in need of helping hands.
